De Baronie Climate Portal
Providing insights into climate stress
in six Dutch municipalities
The Netherlands must be climate-resilient by 2050. To achieve this goal, Water- en Klimaatkring De Baronie (a collaboration between Waterschap Brabantse Delta, drinking water company Brabant Water and six municipalities) had climate stress tests carried out.
I visualized the results of the stress tests in an online climate portal. The climate portal is used to open up the discussions with residents, companies and housing corporations in order to address the challenges for the living environment.

The portal contains global information about each of the six participating municipalities: what are the climate challenges in the municipality, and what has already been accomplished?
The next level is a deep-dive into specific neighbourhoods to view the detailed data about each area.
For each neighbourhood there’s data about the climate stress levels in different sectors. On the map you can view location-specific data about flood risk, heat stress, drought, new developments and opportunities for improvement.
